The Florida Everglades in Song is a collection of songs celebrating Florida’s unique “River of Grass.” Topics include the flora and fauna of the Everglades, the people who have made the Everglades their home, and the threat to this precious environment. The performances were recorded at the Florida Folk Festival and made available by the Florida Memory Program, State Archives of Florida. Artists on this album include James Billie, Dale Crider, Okefenokee Joe, Peters Road Swamp Blues Band, Jay Robert, Simple Gifts, and Frank and Ann Thomas. Many of the artists who perform at the Florida Folk Festival have also produced commercially-available studio albums.
