Description

History 101 provides an overview of the historical development and interrelationships of the major population centers of Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas from Neolithic times to 1500 CE. Using a thematic approach, the course observes the political, economic, social, and cultural characteristics of the various regional groups chosen for study. Important ideas, significant persons, and world views are described in the context of each theme. The podcasts are 20-30 minute pre-recorded audio supplements to the weekly learning module. In each podcast, I go over the lesson’s main points and expand them to include other information not necessarily included in the learning module, so that students may hear the information as it would be presented in a traditional classroom. Students can listen to them as they complete the learning module on their computers, or independent of the online learning modules. I expect most will listen to them as they work on the material, to reinforce what they are reading on the screen.

Making My Drive to Work a Learned One

I don't usually review things on iTunes. However, I have to state that these podcasts have taught me more about World History than my formal education did. A great presentation along with interesting anecdotes makes this course a successful one. Well done, Dr. Moss. My twenty mile drive to work is no longer dreaded.

Thanks and please post more podcasts.

Enjoying course

I agree with most above that this is an easy course to listen to. The only question I have is whether it is possible to get a copy of the written guide to which he refers. I think it would be easier to follow in some portions of his lecture if we had the guide.

Great

This is a very good podcast. It is very basic and doesn't get into specifics, but that is the teachers intention. The propose of the course is to give you a better understanding and he delivers very well. I managed to take the whole course in two days because i was in a hurry and digested it very well. I really hope that he makes a more advance podcasts in the future. Make sure you take the history of us one too. He does even a better job.
