About the Movie

Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. The Conjuring tells the horrifying true story of Ed and Lorraine Warren, world renowned paranormal investigators, who were called to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives. Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga (The Departed) and Golden Globe nominee Patrick Wilson (Insidious) play the investigators while Golden Globe nominee Ron Livingston (Band of Brothers) and Emmy nominee Lili Taylor (Six Feet Under) play the Perron family plagued by sinister spirits in this dark chiller from the writers of The Reaping and the creator of the Saw films.

............... very good

Best horror movies ever

Nice job, James Wan, you made the Conjuring series great. He generates the scary elements and environment to the audiences.

Great fictional horror

I've studied both of these cases in depth for quite a while. (The Perron case since the first movie came out, the Enfield case for about 10 years.) Both movies take extreme dramatic license, especially where the Warrens' involvement and influence in the resolution were involved. I had to watch these both from a strictly fictional standpoint to enjoy them.

That being said, these are both extremely creepy and extremely well done horror movies. Each has its fair share of in your face shocks, but also has an underlying sense of sheer terror throughout.

If you want to see some of the best ever horror movies, watch both of these.

For more accurate accounts of the cases, Andrea Perron has been the guest on multiple podcasts, and gladly tells her story. "The Enfield Haunting" is somewhat more accurate than Conjuring 2, and can be found on YouTube, as well as the True Case of the Enfield Haunting (a British documentary of the case).
