About the Movie
“12 Strong” is set in the harrowing days following 9/11 when a U.S. Special Forces team, led by their new Captain, Mitch Nelson (Hemsworth), are chosen to be the first U.S. troops sent into Afghanistan for an extremely dangerous mission. There, in the rugged mountains, they must convince Northern Alliance General Dostum (Navid Negahban) to join forces with them to fight their common adversary: the Taliban and their Al Qaeda allies. In addition to overcoming mutual distrust and a vast cultural divide, the Americans——accustomed to state-of-the-art warfare——must adopt the rudimentary tactics of the Afghan horse soldiers. But despite their uneasy bond, the new allies face overwhelming odds: outnumbered and outgunned by a ruthless enemy that does not take prisoners.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Although the characters are all types, the performances are strong enough that we identify with them despite their lack of depth.
Rotten: "12 Strong" does its best to tell a story of heroism from a dark chapter in our history, but its reality is much more complicated.
Fresh: Shannon and Hemsworth employ all their uncomplicated masculine charisma, and the war scenes are pumped with adrenaline.
Rotten: 12 Strong is a story worth telling but I'd have preferred that it ditched the cliches and replaced it with better dialogue.
I’m big into Army and Counter-Terrorism movies and games such as this movie and the game Rainbow Six: Siege but his movie was amazing and I enjoyed every second. I was held captive by the film and couldn’t get my eyes off of it! ❤️ my new favorite movie by far.
12 Strong is great!!
I watched this movie over the weekend and I loved it. If you’re into war movies then this movie is for you. Can’t wait for the digital release!!
A GREAT tribute to our Special Forces Operators
Forget the reviews previously on iTunes; this isn’t an “Army Movie;” perhaps one should see movie before reviewing. 12 Strong’s a GREAT, true story of the special forces operators, working w/ an “unexpected/non-obvious” ally
(tribal leader), against the Taliban, who provided Osama bin Laden, etc. sanctuary, immediately following the 9/11 attacks.
