Plot Summary

28 Weeks Later, the follow-up to the hugely successful 28 Days Later, picks up six months after the rage virus has annihilated Mainland Britain. The US army declares that the war against infection has been won, and that the reconstruction of the country can begin. As the first wave of refugees return, a family is reunited – but one of them unwittingly carries a terrible secret. The virus is not yet dead, and this time, it is more dangerous than ever.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Thematic resonance makes 28 Weeks Later stick to your nightmares. Hold on for a hell of a ride. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, May 12, 2007

Fresh: Relentlessly grim and grisly, 28 Weeks Later is not for the faint of heart. But its provocative post-apocalyptic theme makes for a smart and deeply unsettling film. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Sep 1, 2007

Fresh: Combines traditional B-movie virtues -- economy, invention, sinewy narrative spine -- with the eerily resonant spectacle of a 21st-century metropolis stripped of its citizenry. – Tom Charity, CNN.com, Jan 4, 2008

Rotten: There isn't much acting here, but there is entirely too much vomiting, and the prose turns laughably purple, too. – Rex Reed, New York Observer, Jun 24, 2010

28 Weeks Later

This is an awesome movie and I reccomend it but I am mad that they made it only for rental so I am gonna wait. I like this one way more than the first [28 Days Later].

AAA +++!

Can only recommend this film! Now where is the first one? (28 days later)

Decent but can't compare...

This was a decent film but can't compare to the first one, which had memorable characters that you actually cared for that helped to drive the plot forward. The first ten minutes are the best in the film, after which, everything seems like a let-down.
