About the Movie

In Arizona in the late 1800's, infamous outlaw Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) and his vicious gang of thieves and murderers have plagued the Southern Railroad. When Wade is captured, Civil War veteran Dan Evans (Christian Bale), struggling to survive on his drought-plagued ranch, volunteers to deliver him alive to the "3:10 to Yuma", a train that will take the killer to trial. On the trail, Evans and Wade, each from very different worlds, begin to earn each other’s respect. But with Wade’s outfit on their trail – and dangers at every turn – the mission soon becomes a violent, impossible journey toward each man's destiny.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: James Mangold's expert and entertaining 3:10 to Yuma demonstrates both the Western's age-old appeal, and the problems it presents to a contemporary filmmaker. – Tom Charity,, Jan 4, 2008

Fresh: Mangold's film is more than sufficiently subtexty and cynical for our modern sensibilities while simultaneously embracing Mangold's obvious pleasure in the Westerns' time-honored swinging saloon doors and stern masculine traditions. – Mark Bourne,, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: It is part of the richness of 3.10 to Yuma that this is a classical piece of storytelling with themes and characters that can be found in the very earliest Westerns. – Geoffrey Macnab, Sight and Sound, May 25, 2011

Fresh: Nothing terribly original happens in this remake of a 1957 semi-classic that starred Glenn Ford and Van Heflin, but everything happens smoothly and with grace. – Bob Mondello,, May 17, 2009

Straight up GOOD!

ussally I don't like movies that take place a long time ago(Historical fiction) I expected just people people getting shot in this movie with no plot but instead a well thought out plot and still pleaty of fun s real action. I highly recomend this movie to anyone who likes alot of action in movies with good plots-Hit list critic

I LOVE this movie. It is so hot!

This movie is everything a good movie should be! Its got this awesome action plot that straps you in and keeps you there till the very end. And ofcourse Russell Crowe and Christian Bale are amazing. Both their characters have a lot of depth, adding to this very realistic western classic. When I began watching it, I hadn't even expected an appetizer, but 3:10 to YUMA gives you a 6 course meal. (with desert of course!) WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!! (Other movies I'm crazy about:::::::: Little MIss Sunshine, Edward Scissorhands, Lucky Number Slevin, Pirates (trilogy), Ferris Bueler's Day Off, Walk The Line) ~musicloverrer~
