About the Movie
Josh Harnett (Black Dahlia, Pearl Harbor) crosses over to the dark side in this bone-chilling adaptation of the cult-hit graphic novel, brought to the screen in all its demonic glory. In a small Alaskan town, thirty days of night is a natural phenomenon. Very few outsiders visit, until a band of bloodthirsty, deathly pale vampires mark their arrival by savagely attacking sled dogs. But soon they find there are much more satisfying thirst-quenchers about: human beings. One by one, the townspeople succumb to a living nightmare, but a small group survives...at least for now. The vampires use the dark to their advantage, and surviving this cold hell is a game of cat and mouse...and screams.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: 30 Days of Night manages to do for the vampire genre what 28 Days Later did for the zombie flick: give age-old monsters a modern-day makeover.
Rotten: A terrific horror premise goes begging in the garbled Halloween offering 30 Days of Night.
Fresh: 30 Days of Night is the kind of gruesome but entertaining survival guide you pray you never have to follow: how to stop vampires killing you during the darkest days of Alaskan winter.
Rotten: Feels derivative of 28 Days Later.
Best. Movie. Ever.
I saw this movie with a group of friendds expecting a decent horror flick, not that this would end up becoming my favortie movie! This movie has everything: real looking monsters, scary situations the characters are thrown into, pop-up scares, buckets of blood and gore, somewhat heroic acts, and a brilliant twist ending (and might I mention superb acting by Danny Huston-Marlow, the leader of the vampires, and Josh Hartnett-the town sheriff). I recommed this to everyone except those with weak stomachs. Oh, and whoever the reviewer was who spoiled the ending or everyone who wanted to watch what happens, THANKS ALOT!!!!!!! YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO SPOIL THE FREAKING ENDING IN A FREAKING REVIEW! AND YOU PUT IT T THE BEGINNING!!!!! DUH DUH DUH!!!
I Thought It Was Pretty Good...
All in all a bit gory but a good story and a nice suprise ending. I am kind of mixed on it, I feel this way, it's worth renting, but don't know about the replay value, once you have seen it there really isn't much beyond the story here which was worth the watch.
It did scare me thats for sure.
But either way I liked this movie.
