About the Movie
Seventeen-year-old Dusty Rhodes (Bailee Madison) goes to live with her grandfather (Pat Boone) while her parents, both soldiers, are deployed in Afghanistan. Because she is attending a new high school, Dusty makes friends with a group that includes Savannah (Chloe Lukasiak), a girl whose father also served in the Army. Dusty convinces her new friends to form an equestrian drill team, but when her mother’s helicopter is shot down in action and goes missing, Dusty’s faith is seriously tested. She must work together with her friends and grandfather to overcome her sorrow and unite the town for a higher cause.
This was an amazing film!
It is something that the whole family can watch. There were sensitive subjects and they were given the respect they deserved. I have grown up watching Bailee and I think she did amazing in the film. Newcomer Chloe Lukasiak took me by a nice surprise. I felt that there was true chemistry between Savanah and Dusty and that chemistry drove the movie to sucess.
Loved Pat Boone, but his words of advice sometimes seemed reppetitive. Either way, all three of the leads did amazing. Definitely reccomend.
Expected More, But Still A Decent Film
This film had the potential to be a sweet, fun, family movie. It has a good cast, but the story lacks real depth. There were a lot of serious plot lines thrown in in hopes of withdrawing emotion from the viewers, but those plot lines did not match the over all tone of the film and did not have a strong arc. The script could have been better, too, as there were a lot of cheesy lines and scenes randomly thrown in. I genuinely enjoyed watching the fresh-faced cast, and I was impressed by the sets, makeup, and wardrobe. Still worth watching!!!
A cowgirls story review By: brittany hinsey
A cowgirl's story is one of the most inspiring movies I've ever watched. I've noticed that throughout my life that there aren't a lot of movies that focus on our military troops. It's not only the troops, but also military families dealing with their members in the troops. This movie also teaches a lot about faith and that whether you are religious or not, never doubt your faith that the good can come out of every situation. Thank you Bailee for producing and acting in this wonderful project and thank u to the cast and crew members of this outstanding production. Everyone's performance was spectacular. It brought me many laughs and tears. I highly recommend A Cowgirl's Story.
