About the Movie
From the outrageous John Waters ("Serial Mom," "Hairspray"), comes another signature exercise in bad taste. Sylvia Stickles, the owner of a convenience store in a working-class Baltimore neighborhood, suffers a concussion. The injury causes a drastic change in her sexual drive, turning her into a sex addict with crazy, wild and urgent desires and compulsions, much to the joy and then frustration of her husband, who has trouble keeping up with her. As Sylvia's insatiable libido reaches fever pitch, her new oversexed personality threatens to tear apart the remnants of what wasn't an entirety perfect family to begin with. And that's A Dirty Shame. Starring Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winner Tracey Ullman (TVs "The Tracey Ullman Show," TVs "Ally McBeal"), Johnny Knoxville ("The Dukes of Hazzard," "Men in Black II"), Selma Blair ("Legally Blonde," "Hellboy"), Chris Isaak ("The Silence of the Lambs," "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me") and Mink Stole ("Lost Highway," "But I'm a Cheerleader").

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: This raucously gritty and high-spirited film could scarcely be bluer in terms of the language, but from Waters it comes as a gust of fresh air.
Rotten: More catalog than comedy, a checklist of erotically twisted dysfunctions strung together to fill 89 minutes of chirpy, stylized screen time.
Fresh: A big, lascivious punch line about America's peculiar, embarrassed, hypocritical relationship with sex.
Rotten: The obviousness and redundancy of the material take their toll on each of the actors.
Great film but you need to buy the NC-17 version...its way better
Rated R? Are you kidding?
This is the Neuter version and it is WEAK, as in EDITED to the point of overkill, the theatrical release was NC-17 and that is the version you want to own, not this censored crap.
must be seen
Very good movie. As usual John Waters shows that extreme sex behaviours are.....normal!!! Nothing is dirty and there's no shame to be a freak!
