Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Casting is everything in a film like this, and in the major roles, Mayer scores two out of three.
Fresh: Roberts, Farrell, and Penn don't appear to be in the least bit self-consumed; you really believe they're thinking about each other.
Rotten: Despite some very good acting in most roles, the people on the screen seem like types with labels.
Rotten: Doesn't quite satisfy -- it all seems too simple, too glowing -- but it tries, and that's something. Not quite enough, but something.
Made me laugh and Made me cry..... An Awesome Movie.....
What a wonderful movie...... Colin Farrell....Hot....Hot....Hot... I thought I would never see a movie with Colin as a gay character.. What a dream come true. This movie is well written and well acted. There are very few films that can make you laugh and cry. This movie did both. A believable and complex relationship between two childhood friends, Bobby and Jonathan. Their love for one another is enriched by the characters played by Sissy Spacek and Robin Wright Penn. This will go into my collection of all time best gay movies!!!! Jeffrey Allen Frist
One to see!
Fantastic, touching and will stay with you long after it's over. Colin Farrell has never been better. The movie really captures the essence of the novel (which I highly recommend as well). It doesn't shy away from making the characters complicated. Sissy Spacek brings incredible heart to the film and Robin Wright is terrific as a woman who is struggling with her own life choices. See it!
'A Home At The End Of The World' was a great, emotional movie. There were a few awkward scenes, but that's the point of the movie. Three people in love with each other and not knowing what to do. Definitely worth a watch.
