Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The result is half Python, half Ivanhoe -- and not as much fun as either. – Richard Schickel, TIME Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: May please aficionados of oldies stations and Xtreme sports but few others. – Susan Wloszczyna, USA Today, May 11, 2001

Fresh: More often than not, it's fun. – Bob Graham, San Francisco Chronicle, Oct 18, 2008

Fresh: Essentially, it's a screenful of pseudo-medieval popcorn that hits a high enough level of goofy fun to transcend a pretty blatant marketing strategy aimed at the MTV demographic. – Jay Carr, Boston Globe, Jun 24, 2010

Customer Reviews

One of my favorite movies!

The critics completely screwed up every review I've ever read utterly love this movie and I don't care what anyone thinks. I've seen watched it so many times I know the dialogue (yeah, that many times). Sure it's not exactly historically accurate in every way but I really don't care. For the person who suggested people only appreciate this movie because of his death I can only say that's total crap! I've felt this way since the first time I saw it the year it came out. Actually I can't watch it now without feeling a little sad that this guys life ended so young. Nevertheless, I still love every minute of this movie.

A knights tale

This movie is amazing! It is hilarious and a great action movie! Heath Ledger is awesome in this movie.

Critics know nothing

I agree with some other reviews in that critics just aren't any good at rating. The worst movies I've seen were very highly rated by critics(uh, Machete? Only movie I ever walked out of), and the best movies I've seen have been bashed by critics and this is one of them. This movie is just plain fun. Good over evil, and goofy enough to keep everyone laughing throughout. The critics are the ones who are rotten here, not the movie.
