About the Movie

Academy Award® Winners Christopher Walken (Supporting Actor, "The Deer Hunter," 1978) and Philip Seymour Hoffman (Actor, "Capote," 2005) strike all the right chords with Academy Award® Nominee Catherine Keener (Supporting Actress, "Capote," 2005; Supporting Actress, "Being John Malkovich," 1999) and Mark Ivanir in this powerful story that blends raw emotion with fiery passion to form an unforgettable cinematic masterpiece. After 25 years together, the members of a world-renowned string quartet learn that their beloved cellist (Walken) may soon be forced to retire. But the news stirs up equally painful challenges when competing egos, harbored resentment, and irrepressible lust threaten to derail the group as they struggle to maintain harmony in their music — and their lives.

Interesting Movie

When I went to the theater to see this movie I have to admit that I didn't expect much but, boy was I completely wrong. This movie was far more than I'd expected. The characters were very believable and the story had me thinking, "I could imagine something like this happening in real life." Very good performances, and they should be getting more recognition that they have. Job well done.

An absolutely amazing movie that defies the common and rises to a beautiful story of life. Music and life felt deeply….please watch you will be moved.

Glad they're still making adult movies!

This movie was nicely acted by the four principles, but Christopher Walken definitely made this movie something special. The movie has a lot of interesting, thought provoking moments in it, and the Beethoven music serves perfectly at the end to bring us to an understanding of the characters and a very moving climax.
