About the Movie
Seventeen years after family matriarch Peggy tripped over G. W. ’s wooden legs in Sordid Lives, same-sex marriage equality has barreled into Winters, Texas and not everyone is ready to accept it. An anniversary memorial service is being planned in honor of Peggy at the bar while the Southside Baptist Church plans an "Anti-Equality" rally to protest the abomination of gay marriage and work to defend their religious freedom. The beloved cast of colorful characters are all on a collision course for shenanigans and fireworks on the big night. Along the way a bisexual serial killer shows up, a drag queen country medley is performed and a beauty-salon-versus-the-bigots battle turns getting your hair done into the front lines of the equality battle. Friendships are tested and families are reunited as fear and bigotry are confronted with acceptance and understanding on the way to a surprise wedding with (almost) everyone in attendance.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: There's something touching about Shores' hope that a town like Winters can change colors like the streaks of eye shadow that cake his characters' faces, but his impulse toward Southern-fried cartoonishness cheapens and undermines it.
Fresh: As broad as the side of a barn but much more amusing.
Fresh: Delivers much of the same brand of raucous, gay-themed humor that propelled its predecessor to surprising success.
Fresh: The film is undeniably energetic, with a lot of good lines written by Shores, but it descends into obvious preachiness, and from this view, the unrelenting wackiness becomes overwhelming.
It just got better with age
As a fan of the original Sordid franchise, I was thrilled to learn this was in the works. In limited release, I was able to see this twice. There were so many laughs, I missed some things the first time. I think this is even funnier than the original. With a cast of 33, including EGOT winners, Emmy winners and Tony Award winners, everyone brought something unique to this film. I laughed until I cried and cried until I laughed. Even my 13 year old straight son laughed!
A must see!
Such a fantastic film! You will laugh more than you have in a long time.
BETTER THAN THE FIRST
Funny, touching and important! A great ending to the Sordid Lives characters.
