About the Movie
Liam Neeson stars in A Walk Among the Tombstones, an action-thriller based on Lawrence Block’s bestselling series of mystery novels. Neeson plays Matt Scudder, an ex-cop turned unlicensed private investigator who reluctantly agrees to help a heroin trafficker (Dan Stevens, TV's Downton Abbey) hunt down the men who brutally murdered his wife. When the PI learns that this is not the first time, nor will it be the last, that these men have committed this sort of twisted crime, he must blur the line between right and wrong as he races to track the deviants through the backstreets of New York City before they kill again.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: As a throwback to a type of nasty, ugly crime film of yesteryear, A Walk Among the Tombstones cleans up.
Fresh: If this is your kind of movie, it's hard to find one better made.
Fresh: As usual, Neeson gives a more thoughtful performance than the material deserves.
Rotten: As nauseating as the film's inventive sadisms can be, Frank succeeds far more in the details than in the larger picture that tries to relate this world to ours.
Th story line was not strong at all and there were no suspenseful parts. It's like you knew everything that was coming next. Love him as an actor but nothing compared to his other movies.
This is a remarkably satisfying film. While the specific plot of the film more than holds one’s attention, the real story is Matt Scudder’s tentative steps towards rebuilding a life. Sharp direction, a nuanced performance by Neeson, and a screenplay that, in some aspects, improves on the book. Hopefully there will others from the series.
definitely a renter. Story was okay but it was slow.
