In this contemporary animated holiday musical fable, Adam Sandler gives voice to all three main characters, including the film's antagonizing protagonist Davey Stone, a young man who hates the holidays and is determined that no one else in the town of Dukesberry is going to enjoy them either. In trouble with the law for a rowdy rampage on the first night of Hanukkah, party animal Davey must spend his holidays performing community service as the assistant referee for the youth basketball league, or go to jail. He thinks he's gotten off easy until he meets Whitey Duvall, the eccentric, elf-like head referee. Between Whitey's never-ending optimism and Davey's constant troublemaking, soon both are wondering if going to jail wouldn't have been easier.

Critics Consensus: Sandler returns to his roots in this nauseating concoction filled with potty humor and product placements.
Lame attempt at holiday humor with lots of iffy behavior.
