Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Bound to vanish as quickly as a fleetingly glimpsed UFO after a few close encounters with paying viewers. – Joe Leydon, Variety, Apr 7, 2014

Rotten: As the found-footage horror genre reaches the please-lose-it-again point, "Alien Abduction" arrives to remind us how tedious the camping trip set-up has become as well. – Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times, Apr 3, 2014

Rotten: Close encounters of the mediocre kind. – Frank Scheck, Hollywood Reporter, Apr 4, 2014

Rotten: A few jolting scares are deployed throughout, but more difficult to shake is how the story's overacting lambs walk a rather programmatic path toward slaughter--or at least anal probing. – Ed Gonzalez, Slant Magazine, Mar 28, 2014

NY TIMES

As on the nose as its title, Matty Beckerman's "Alien Abduction" repackages ancient legend for modern audiences in a found-footage story of streamlined efficiency.

Alien Abduction review from Alien Bee

Alien Abduction is everything Dark Skies and The Fourth Kind wanted to be! This is alien horror and found footage done right, it holds nothing back and it never slows down.

Fear the lights

Even though I find the found footage genre overplayed, I found this movie surprisingly fun to watch. It's got lots of scares, laughs, and suspense. Do yourself a favor and watch this movie
