Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: A grandiose hybrid of undersea documentary and outer-space fantasy.
Fresh: Less focused thematically than its predecessor, the Titanic film Ghosts of the Abyss, Aliens of the Deep is nonetheless a visually enthralling undersea travelogue.
Fresh: Often thrilling.
Rotten: We're treated to more intramural banter and golly-gee chatter among the crew than we can use, and are not given enough scientific information.
This movie takes a different look at the underwater world. It looks at creatures that live in habitats where we, as humans, wouldnt last an instant. The researches take their findings and apply it to other planets. What they discover, I believe could change the world. This is an excellent film for anybody who likes Sci-Fi or the Discovery channel. Such a great movie...
Every ounce of this 'documentary' appears staged and completely insincere. There is more about these men and their machines than here is about the exploration. The film is just bad. Not worth it at all.
Yes, of all the words I could use to describe this documentary, I would say it was interesting. I saw it in IMAX and while some of my friends fell asleep while watching it, I stayed awake. It describes the epipment that they use to explore the depths of the ocean, and explains what scientists hope to find in far away planets. If you are into discovering new things, this might be good for you.
