From the moment she glimpses her idol at the stage door, Eve Harrington (Ann Baxter) is determined to take the reins of power away from the great actress Margo Channing (Bette Davis). Eve maneuvers her way into Margo's Broadway role, becomes a sensation and even causes turmoil in the lives of Margo's director boyfriend (Gary Merrill), her playwright (Hugh Marlowe) and his wife (Celeste Holm). Only the cynical drama critic (Oscar® winner George Sanders) sees through Eve, admiring her audacity and perfect pattern of deceit. Thelma Ritter and Marilyn Monroe co-star in this acclaimed classic, which won six Academy Awards® and received the most nominations in film history.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: A fine Darryl Zanuck production, excellent music and an air of ultra-class complete this superior satire. The legitimate theatre had better look to its laurels.
Fresh: It crackles with smart, smarting dialogue.
Fresh: The Zanuck production investiture is plush in every department.
Fresh: Mankiewicz's flair for dialog is so perfected that all three actresses shoot fireworks whenever they open their mouths.
I have heard of this movie for a long time and i'm so glad iTunes had it!!! For an oldie it held my attition like no other. Bette Davis is wonderful as Margot and it also has Marilyn Monroe in a bit part. I could go on for days about how much I love this work of art. You would be crazy not to rent or buy it !!!
All About Eve
This is one of the best films ever made. Bette Davis is, of course, at the top of her game here. But all of the principal actors are outstanding. Who couldn't love the delicious malice displayed by Anne Baxter and George Sanders. And don't miss Marilyn Monroe's short turn as a not so clueless hanger-on. If you love great acting, great writing and outstanding directing you will love this film.
The movie by which all other movies are measured.
Simply the best movie ever. If I were trapped on a desert island, I'd make sure I had this movie with me (along with my iPad and a power source).
