Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: It also feels like one man's attempt to try another in the court of cinema, or perhaps correct the course of justice itself.
Rotten: Director Andrew Jarecki, who made his name with the documentary Capturing the Friedmans, is less successful at limning family dysfunctionality in the fictional mode.
Rotten: Jarecki knows how to make scenes of boisterous family reunions and quiet moments between lovers engaging: He fares less well, though, when the story takes a dark turn.
rent for $10 bucks?
movie looks great. but really!? "RENT" it for $10 bucks!? you've got to be kidding. itunes... SNAP OUT OF IT!
Very Good!..Could have used more a little explaining
I thought this was a really good movie and represented the true story well. They needed to explain that Robert Durst had been diagnosed with Aspergers. That would have explained his odd behaviors better. Other than that, I thought it was portrayed well.
WORTH THE WAIT!!
Director Andrew Jarecki tells a evocative story. No pointing fingers, no judgements, and the perfect amount of details. The cinematography is gorgeous - even the simplest of settings come to life in a way that is anything but. The acting is brilliant - many beautiful people all in one film. The two years' wait was well worth it!
