Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: The part may be tailor-made for Simmons' no-nonsense persona, and his performance reliably rock solid, but the bland execution of director Gavin Wiesen and the uninspired scripting of Seth Owen have no comic zing. It's a night all too easy to forget.
Rotten: Despite J.K. Simmons' gruff charm and inarguable charisma, the movie is so slight it vanishes without a trace faster than the dislocated Ginnie.
Rotten: In constantly shifting its genre allegiances, the film reveals itself to be a cinematic jack of all trades and a master of none.
J.K.Simmons as Dad
Very Nice Movie!
After watching J.K. Simmons in Whiplash, I'm a fan! Good acting and script... just what I needed for the weekend.
Great unlikely buddy comedy!
Saw the poster and watched it immediately... and I loved it! JK Simmons is the hard as nails dad looking for his daughter and teams with with Hirsh, the loser ex boyfriend. Great cameos from some unexpected actors will have you laughing all the way through. Thoroughly enjoyed this film.
Finally a comedy that isn't annoy as hell! This is an enjoyable film that has some hysterical scenes especially with J.K. Simmons. Fun and easy to follow story line and Emile Hirsch is always a likable addition (this guy can act). The producing team killed it on this film. Enjoy the fantastic movie that has plenty of laughs and no dull moments!
