About the Movie

What makes for the ultimate road trip? Hitchhiking, truck stops, angry bears, prickly porcupines and a golfing goose with a duck caddy. Just ask Kate (Hayden Panettiere) and Humphrey (Justin Long), two wolves who are trying to get home after being taken by park rangers and shipped halfway across the country. Humphrey is an Omega wolf, whose days are about quick wit, snappy one-liners and hanging with his motley crew of fun-loving wolves and video-gaming squirrels. Kate is an Alpha: duty, discipline and sleek eye-popping moves fuel her fire. Humphrey's motto — make 'em laugh. Kate's motto — I'm the boss. And they have a thousand miles to go. Back home rival wolf packs are on the march and conflict is brewing. Only Kate and Humphrey can restore the peace. But first, they have to survive each other.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Has old-fashioned backgrounds that occasionally achieve a touch of grandeur, but that's about the best that can be said for it. – Mike Hale, New York Times, Sep 17, 2010

Rotten: Underwhelming in the style of most off-brand CG, Alpha and Omega is livened by pretty Rocky Mountain backdrops and leadened by stock characters and the wolves' weirdly prissy behavior. – Adam Markovitz, Entertainment Weekly, Sep 15, 2010

Rotten: Alpha and Omega is one of those rarities in the modern era of Hollywood animation: bad. – Scott Bowles, USA Today, Sep 17, 2010

Rotten: The story comes off as patchwork, with a climax cribbed from The Lion King and odd musical sequences that seem inspired by …ahem, classic Mariah Carey. It's not quite the vision of love intended. – Glenn Whipp, Los Angeles Times, Sep 17, 2010

I cant say I didn't like it....

Because I did.
There are alot of problems with this movie. 1. The Animation was difficult to watch, very chunky and outdated. (I also heard PIXAR was once bidding on this film, but it lost out. I can only imagine how much better it would of been, both in visuals and complexity). 2. There were tons of plot holes and it did ocassionaly spin off into randomness (cupcake... disco woles O.e). 3. The anatomy of the characters were terrible, too human like to function as a belivable wolf (whats with the weird hair?) and 4. If your sub-plot romance is more interisting to watch than your main two characters DA DA DUH you have a problem.
The thing is, I did find it to be a very cute story and the score was very uplifting at times. Good voice casting and all that. But unfortunatly the Negaives way out the Positives too often.
Also one more thing. I specifically remember as a little 5 or 6 year old playing with my stuffed animals and using a story NEARLY identical to this one. That should tell you a bit about the quality of the plot (cliche mainia)if a little girl can come up with somthing so freakishly similar.
Would only reccomend to the most hard core animation fans or if you like wolves. (or if you have the brain of a young child...)

love it

this is the greatest movie ever!!

When will this happen again?

Like the title says, "When will this happen again?" I would like for anyone to do this but count how many wolf related movies there are. Obliviously not that many... Best wolf related movie since i've seen Balto 3! ^^
