Somewhere in the wilds, there is a tower sheltering an aging Jester's solitude. There, the sullen weirdo feeds on dreams about his own greatness. Yet life in the world of illusions is defined by the simple fact that not everything in it is what it seems to be...
This is a low budget CGI short movie. The details are absolutely beautiful, the setting is nicely gloomy, and there's been some effort in textures, movements and stuff. Technically this is a short movie worth to look at, however the story just does not compel. Maybe I am too shallow to get all this, but to call it poignant or austere in any way would be stretching the meaning of those words. Anything more than an exercise for maybe a better movie, with some storyline, plot or sense in it, this movie cannot be called. I absolutely like short movies by Eastern European makers, there are some beautiful, interesting, disturbing, thought provoking ones out there. This movie might grasp some of those adjectives, but hardly all of them.
Heavy is the Head
Heavy is the head that lies the crown? This is poignant, austere and existential in its critique of that well known saying. Its as if they elaborated on my favorite line in (I am the Walrus)- by The Beatles; Don't you think the Joker laughs at you?
I thought that it was a good idea. With more time and effort this movie would be excellent.
