About the Movie
Frankie (Diana DeGarmo, American Idol) is head strong and passionate about her rock band and her Italian-American heritage. She is engaged to a good Italian man, and everything in her life is in order until she discovers a murder victim in the trunk of her rental car. Heather, her sister, convinces Frankie to attend the funeral where they meet new friends and Nicolette (Natalie Knepp), the daughter of the new Brooklyn mafia don. When Nicolette shows up at a gig, it triggers a cascade of events that take Frankie towards an unexpected romance.
I fell in love with this story and these characters, especially Nicolette. It was obvious how much she cared about Frankie and her dreams and I couldn't help but root for her to get the girl. The line, "What am I doing? Jesus, Frankie. Are you really that blind? I'm in love with you," really depicted their relationship of Nicolette not hiding anything about her feelings and Frankie trying to maintain whatever control she had before falling for Nicolette. Frankie and Nicolette's arc was organic and sweet - an exciting journey in the midst of chaotic family. The scene where Nicolette is holding Frankie in bed while Frankie sings in Italian?? True romance. Will rewatch this film over and over again.
