In this loud, irreverent comedy, Jimmy, a terminally ill young man with a penchant for waxing philosophical and sudden costume changes, finds his hedonistic world of casual sex, drinking and board games derailed when he learns that his best friend and roommate, James, has gotten a job.

Rotten: [An] hour and a half of pretentious mind games...
Fresh: Bizarre, off-putting, and finally demanding of rubberneck respect...
Fresh: It is well-acted and features witty repartee. Look for more good things to come from this talent.
Fresh: Personal filmmaking with ambition to burn.
Matt D'Elia Shines
Matt D'Elia's work in this film is one to earn him a well deserved standing O. His portrayal of Jimmy was a freakish marvel. The story was touching and inspirational, but in a manner that made you feel like you should skip work tomorrow and run naked beating your chest in the woods. The colors and lighting were impressive and set the mood perfectly. Looking forward to seeing what this young talent brings in the future.
Didn't click for me
Over-affected, pretentious. Tried hard to like this one as I am a huge fan and supporter of anything indie. It's so hard to make a film, and indie deserves extra room & support for exploring outside the formulas. But for me, I just couldn't find any reason to like or care about these characters. And that's all there is here. Four characters pretty much wholly self involved and self-absorbed and giving youth a bad name.
I'm not sure why I was surprised at how bad this movie is. I guess I thought it would be weird enough to be good, but it isn't. Acting is quite good by all four actors. And there is a good use of music and a few clever costumes. Unfortunately that doesn't make up for this overly ambitious flat flop. The lighting is absurd. The script is unrelentingly horrible. Yes, there is a requisite crazy guy who insists he knows the secret to life, but the problem is, he offers nothing, not even a philosophy. It seems this entire 95 minute rant is just about this disturbed guys angst, and that is all it is about. There is nothing real or life changing or even slightly enlightening going on here. It's like watching somebody heave bucket after bucket of paint onto a canvas and come out with a mess of mud. You keep hoping there is a brilliant painting or hint of design or at least an artistic aspiration in the mess, but there isn't. There are no wisps of figures or ideas or politics or cosmology. It's nothing but some over indulged angst and rant, and a poorly written rant at that. A waste of time and talent.
