Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: A clever mixture of comedy and horror which succeeds in being both funny and scary, An American Werewolf in London possesses an overriding eagerness to please that prevents it from becoming off-putting. – Variety Staff, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: Considering its often campy competition, it's hard to argue that, if your in the mood for lycanthropy, London is the place to go. – James Berardinelli, ReelViews, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: Not just gory but actually frightening, not just funny but clever, 'American Werewolf...' has its flaws, but these are outweighed by the film's many, mighty strengths. – Tom Huddleston, Time Out, Oct 8, 2012

Fresh: The best movie ever written by a teenager -- Landis was 19 when he penned the first draft - and a constant comic delight. – Film4, Aug 16, 2013

Typical of iTunes

This is so typical, it doesn’t surprise me anymore. iTunes finally brings this classic to the iTunes store, and doesn’t allow anyone to buy it, only to rent it. I love the movie, I just don’t like and care for the way items are made available to the public.

Also want to buy, refuse to rent.

Want to buy, not rent

Why is there no buy option for this movie? Why would I want to rent only? This makes no sense, you can buy all the #%~,# movies like 50 Shades of Gray but you can only rent this entertaining film?
