Plot Summary

From the creator of Ghost in the Shell and the director of Appleseed comes the intense post-apocalyptic prequel, Appleseed: Alpha. Left to survive in a post-World War society, two mercenary soldiers - Deunan and her cyborg partner Briareos – are sent on a mission on the outskirts of their war-torn city. During the operation, they run into Iris and Olsen, two citizens from the utopian city of Olympus, who might have a way to save the world but the ruthless Talos and the scheming warlord Two Horns have their own plans. It’s up to Deunan and Briareos to safeguard their newfound contacts and help save humanity’s last hope.

Customer Reviews

Wow ! So real.

I am a big fan so I would buy. The detail and visuals are amazing. Glad they went with a prequel. Waiting for same skill to be used in an uncharted movie.

The Appleseed we know, but rush job

Same great quality, but it looks as if they rushed to put this together. No point. Get in blow stuff up, end of movie. They were right, we fans got excited and now after watching it, what was the point? There wasn't one. Bri was made to sound like a junkie. Did Dune need her breast out? No point to that either. What was the point for the comic relief? None whatsoever! I would have given it zero stars if the quality of the movie was less. The story line p o o p!

A mixed bag

I’m a bit torn, Briareos was an amazing piece of artistry, but having him in cyborg form in a prequel wasn’t a necessary change. And in turn Deunan fell into the trap of wearing ridiculous armor, her character didn’t need a dose of trailer park. But for a real fan of Appleseed it is worth a view.
