About the Movie
AS I AM covers the late, great mash-up pioneer's entire life from seed to sorrow. His meteoric rise made him the first million-dollar DJ in the world, but alongside his artistic success was a tumultuous personal life: addiction, tabloid romances, and personal tragedy. Featuring contemporaries such as A-Trak, Mark Ronson, and Diplo, this is the tale of a man who changed the landscape of music. With music by Daft Punk, Justice, Outkast, Elton John, The Doors, The Ramones, Blondie, Black Sabbath, Talking Heads, The Outfield, Fischerspooner, Zoë Keating, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Gang Starr, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, and many other artists.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: "As I AM" rockets through its subject's life, teeming with testimonials from the superstar producer-D.J.s Mark Ronson and Paul Oakenfold, among many others. And then it ends, leaving you spent. And wistful.
Fresh: A celebrity DJ's busy, curtailed life is charted in Kevin Kerslake's entertaining documentary.
Fresh: AM's fans should get a lot out of the doc, but casual music-lovers may wish Kerslake would just get back to the party.
Fresh: It would benefit from more focus on the music, but the work stands as an effective (if overly long) portrait of addiction.
This movie was so well done! Interesting, exciting and informative! Really took you inside the life of one of the most influential DJs of modern times and certainly the most influential in making "the superstar DJ" that we all know today. Fantastic movie. If you have any interest in learning all about a DJ legend or the life of a DJ with star power, you can't miss this movie!!
what an amazing documentary on Adam. So many producers and dj's in this film to talk about him. A Must see film
I was a funding partner on the Indiegog campaign. I got the movie a few days before the Chicago premiere and watched it a handful of times beforehand. This movie was put together so amazingly well. It flows nicely together. Even though we all know how it ends, it's really sad hearing about how or what he said to a few friends days leading up to it. This movie inspired me to push myself more as a DJ as well. It shows the struggles of addiction and what he went through dealing with it. You don't even have to be a DJ to enjoy this movie.
