Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Assassin's Creed mistakenly assumes that the plot is the most important element of its source material. Actually, it's the least.
Rotten: Fassbender, one of the producers, and Cotillard head a lavishly wasted cast. ... All score bonus points for keeping a straight face throughout.
Rotten: In the game-to-film genre - which includes such memorable disasters as "Silent Hill" and "Hitman 47" - this is yet another disorganized, incoherent, nearly unwatchable entry.
Rotten: Obtuse, narratively incoherent, and ultimately frustrating, it stands as another example of how hard it is to make a good mainstream movie out of a popular computer game.
It broke the curse!
This movie is amazing!!! I loved the story and I loved all of the characters. As a person whose played all of the Assassin's Creed Games, this movie made my year! Thank you Ubisoft!
Don't Listen to the Critics
Just finished seeing Assassin's Creed in the theaters and to say that my expectations were subverted is an understatement. There isn't much you can expect from a property based on a video game series based on past examples but Assassin's Creed is the first to get it right. This is the Iron Man of video game movies and should be the standard for the genre going forward. From the casual movie goer to the hardcore lore fans, there is much to love here. Do yourself a favor, check this one out. You will not be disappointed.
movie is a fail
Fan boys need to step up on how atrocious this movie actually is. Video game is 100x better than attempting to create a movie on the franchise. Literally only 3 action scenes and the rest is talk that dos not connect or make you feel for anything happening. You just do not care in the end and I was so relieved it was over so that I could go get a refill on my XL popcorn. Dont watch it. There are so many better movies in theatres right now.
