About the Movie

The Dark Knight, along with new sidekick Robin, has finally reclaimed Gotham City and allowed a ray of hope to penetrate the reign of terror cast by The Mutants. With Batman back in the spotlight, the extended media coverage has awoken a far worse evil at Arkham Asylum: The Joker! A global catastrophe races towards Gotham and with it comes a familiar face, The Man of Steel, though this time he has Batman in his sights. Witness as the aging Dark Knight wages a tireless war against crime while proving that courage and will are indeed timeless.

Customer Reviews

This wasn't meant for kids.

The person who is going on about how violent it is and the timing and blah blah blah. This was a comic book way before it was made into an animated feature. "guns are so bad." Be logical please before giving this a low rating. You're ignorance make you look stupid. Batman was always meant to be dark and gritty. They've toned it down for kids on the TV. This is for the people who grew up with it. Now shush.

Absolutely Stunning!

Animation is fluid and intense, accompanied by an incredibly fitting (and just great) score. Parents should know this is not for kids. Violence and subject matter are borderline R material. For dedicated Batman aficionados this is an excellent movie. One of the best Batman movies period.

The Dark Knight Continues to Rise...

The second part to the animated adaptation of the Frank Miller classic that set the tone for the Christopher Nolan "Dark Knight" trilogy couldn't be more spectacular! No holds barred the best animated film release from the line of DC Universe features. With most of the original story and dialogue intact to remain faithful to the original the pace of this chapter in the Miller's Dark Knight is relentless -- not for the faint of hearts. Superman fans -- need not apply! This animated film is filmic and deserves to win an Emmy for story, concept and direction!
