About the Movie

Beatriz (Salma Hayek), an immigrant from a poor town in Mexico, has drawn on her innate kindness to build a career as a spiritual health practitioner in Los Angeles. Doug Strutt (John Lithgow) is a cutthroat, self-satisfied billionaire real estate developer. When these two opposites meet at a dinner party, their worlds collide and neither will ever be the same.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Arteta is clearly confident of preaching to the converted, and of whipping up indignation at those who mean us harm. Thanks to his leading players, however, the movie grows limber, ambiguous, and twice as interesting, and the sermon goes astray. – Anthony Lane, New Yorker, Jun 12, 2017

Fresh: By the time the second course has come and gone, "Beatriz at Dinner" has already paved a road, brick by brick, laden with insults, assumptions, racist slights and cluelessly patronizing small talk. – Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune, Jun 15, 2017

Fresh: In a mere 83 minutes, "Beatriz at Dinner" gets close to the heart of the matter. It has the length of a palate cleanser but the weight of a full meal. – Ty Burr, Boston Globe, Jun 15, 2017

Rotten: As touching as Hayek's performance is, "Beatriz at Dinner" too often forsakes nuance for caricature ... – Ann Hornaday, Washington Post, Jun 15, 2017

Want my money back!

This movie was so weak on so many levels. Acting, storyline, and flow of the movie just wasn't worth a dime. Disappointed.

Nope!!!

Didn't really get the story the movie is boring and it has a horrible ending!! I don't know why she did that like it makes no sense!! So disappointed because I love salma but this movie was just a waste of time and money!

NOT A COMEDY

The GENRE states COMEDY but it's not. There is a little chuckle here and there, thats it! Not what we were looking for after a hard week and just wanted a movie date night with my wife.
