An apocalyptic love story, “Bellflower” is explosive and visually stunning. While Woodrow and Aiden prepare for the apocalypse by building flamethrowers and fire breathing Mad Max-inspired muscle cars, Woodrow falls hard for a femme fatale who's more dangerous than any end of days.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: There's more here than initially meets and sometimes assaults the eye, including the hyperbolic dudeness of it all.
Fresh: Bellflower is stylishly watchable - even when it's preposterous.
Fresh: Evan Glodell's explosive debut feature is a thing of toxic beauty.
Rotten: After a while, "Bellflower" feels like it can't stop checking itself out in the mirror. It's a pose, not a movie.
There is nothing to this movie.
It is an extended montage, poorly derived from half remembered impressions of Tarantino, Mad Max films, a touch of Michael Bay, and drunken college fantasies.
If you want to see what a drunken hipster film college dropout dreams of after he passes out, this would be a start.
All "art", pose, style, angst, and ego.
Not a bit of story or character.
Wait it out
I rented this movie tonight and watched it. I was absolutely blown away. Definitely one of the best movies I've seen. The problem is that most of the music is missing from the iTunes version of the film. Not sure what happened, but from what I was told, it had a full soundtrack in theaters, and on the iTunes version there was just silence where those songs should be. I'm still giving it 5 stars, as it was still an incredible film, but maybe wait until this is fixed to rent it. But Jesus, what a powerful film.
It was the best of movies and the worst of movies
People who say this movie is great are probably right. People who say this movie is terrible are probably right.
This movie is like a fighter battling in a much higher weight class than it probably belongs. Considering that its a small movie and accomplished what it did it deserves praise. Although, people who don't take that into consideration will see the movies faults and that will be a wedge that keeps them from enjoying it.
Ultimately, its a movie worth seeing but you will come out the other end either really liking this movie or really hating it.
