Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Villeneuve and cinematographer Roger Deakins give us staggering new visions of the future, ones that confound and trance and mystify in Blade Runner 2049 even while making rich cinematic senses. – Bob Mondello, NPR, Oct 6, 2017

Fresh: Despite all the overlaps, this is not a simulacrum of a Ridley Scott film. It is unmistakably a Denis Villeneuve film, inviting us to tumble, tense with anticipation, into his doomy clutches. – Anthony Lane, New Yorker, Oct 6, 2017

Fresh: Harrison Ford, for his part, is nothing less than a revelation. – Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal, Oct 5, 2017

Fresh: It takes on the themes and universe set forth in the original and builds on them, and manages to live up to the massive expectations that greet it. This is no replicant, it's the real deal. – Adam Graham, Detroit News, Oct 6, 2017

Blade Runner 2049

Wow...just...just wow. I'll be honest, I loved the first Blade Runner movie--the Final Cut being my personal favorite cut. So when I heard that a sequel was being made nearly 35 years later, I can honestly say I had my doubts. But man, oh man, were those doubts wrongfully placed. Blade Runner 2049 is probably one of the best sequels ever made. EVER. It's interesting. It builds upon the already established world. And it's its own story. Plus, this movie is...well, done perfectly. It's exceptionally directed, well shot (Deakins once again proves why he needs an Oscar), well acted from EVERYONE, and the writing is superb. While I can praise this movie from a mountain top, I will admit there are flaws. Like the first Blade Runner, there are pacing issues, lack of action in some places, and can be boring at times, but that's fine with me. So for others, go in with some caution as if you were hesitant with the first Blade Runner, then this one might not be your bag. Plus, the almost 3 hour runtime wont do your bladder any good. In all, Blade Runner 2049 has an interesting story, with beautiful visuals, and lives up to the legacy of its predecessor. Watch it, then watch it again.

Blade Runner 2049

I loved the first Blade Runner movie. And I love this one too! It’s a science fiction fantasy movie and somewhat drama film. It has action too and Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, and Jared Leto are amazing at there roles! 10/10

A Must See in 2017

Blade Runner 2049 is definitely a fantastic Sci-Fi Noir that every movie guy should go buy a ticket and spend another 35 years to learn its idea, or concept.
