1982 US Theatrical Release

"They don't advertise for killers in a newspaper. That was my profession. Ex-cop. Ex-killer. Ex-blade runner."

Yes folks, it's all here in its noir-ish glory… Rick Deckard's narration. Sure the Final Cut fixed some glitches and edits, but I'll take the original 1982 US theatrical release any day. It was never broken to begin with.
I gambled on this purchase, fearing it might end up being the 1992 Director's Cut, and was thrilled when the narration kicked in. My only wish is that the iTunes Extras were included here. If you agree that the voice-over adds more than detracts, then skip the Final Cut and get this version.

Narration!

Thank god. This is the original theatrical release which included the narration by Harrison and no other post release tinkering by Scott. If you purchase any director’s cut or anniversary edition, you will likely wonder why the main character is walking around in silence for extended periods of time.

This is the edition you want. It is considered by many to be the greatest science fiction movie of all time, and I completely agree. It is one of those movies that you never forget.

Scott cut the narration out for his subsequent director’s editions. He also forced a unicorn image from his movie Legends. It always felt forced.

Narration! Thank you for bringing it back!

This is the best version of the movie. Harrison Ford's narration gives context that's otherwise missing in the other versions. This version has no ambiguous long scenes with no dialog.

One much more fully understands the mind of Rick Deckard and sees more fully his point of view. This is a valuable context that's lost with no narration.
