About the Movie
A group of college students venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of James’ sister who many believe is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch. At first the group is hopeful, especially when a pair of locals offer to act as guides through the dark and winding woods, but as the endless night wears on, the group is visited by a menacing presence. Slowly, they begin to realize the legend is all too real and more sinister than they could have imagined.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: The acting and filmmaking are too crude to make you care about what happens ... even though you know pretty much exactly what that will be.
Rotten: Belated "official" sequel to 1999 hit updates technology but repeats the original's shocks - only much louder and lamer
Rotten: Tedious in its early going and all but unwatchable in its final half-hour, the movie feels interminable at a barely-feature-length 89 minutes.
Rotten: Running and screaming may be essential to a lot of horror movies, but as "Blair Witch" shows, they're not scary in themselves. For that, you need the stuff between the running and screaming.
A COMPLETE DISASTER
This movie is literally just people running and screaming in the woods the entire time. Visually this has got to be the worst looking found footage film I've ever seen. They have drones, but no HD cameras seriously??!? I know the original looked like crap, but redoing the same look again was unnecessary. All the characters are one dimensional and obnoxious. The story is illogical and way too over the top. Overall this mess of a movie was boring and chaotic and in the end we still don't get any answers. I was never a huge fan of the original Blair Witch Project, but I appreciate it for what it did for the horror genre. This long awaited sequel honestly should have never been made. The only people I can see actually enjoying this would be young teens who haven't seen many good horror films.
I saw this movie in theatres the other night and I thought it was great. It doesn't quite match up to the first but sure as heck beats book of shadows by a long shot. I just don't know why it's getting such bad reviews.
This is one of the scariest films I've ever seen. I loved the first Blair Witch movie so much, I didn't think something could creep up inside my in the same way. BRAVO!
