Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: "Blame" is earnest but underdeveloped. At the same time, it's overdetermined and often overplayed. – Glenn Kenny, New York Times, Jan 4, 2018

Fresh: Shephard has a lively eye for the neurotic ripples of high-school society, but her most audacious gambit is to dare to place the audience in a grey zone between innocence and judgment ... – Owen Gleiberman, Variety, Jan 5, 2018

Fresh: It's impressive enough that 22-year-old Quinn Shephard wrote, directed, produced, edited and stars in the high-school melodrama "Blame." It's almost a bonus that the movie's good. – Gary Goldstein, Los Angeles Times, Jan 4, 2018

Fresh: The film is powered by some fine acting, as well as a current of sincere feeling that helps you forgive some of its more conspicuous flaws and limitations. – Jon Frosch, Hollywood Reporter, Apr 24, 2017

Clear shade of distinction

The overt subject matter gives way to a rouge wave of nuance. It's a stirring counterbalance of earnest acting and filmmaking insight, with a brief soundtrack worthy of belonging to both.

I was intrigued the ENTIRE movie!!!

I can't remember where exactly I saw the trailer for the movie but it was very thrilling. It caught my attention and it did not disappoint! The ending was a bit of a surprise to me. Love the soundtrack to the movie too!

This is a masterful film!

This film, from start to finish, shows a mastery in the craft of filmmaking. Whether that be the incredible camera work (cinematographer: Aaron Kovalchik); the mind blowing, complex characters played my Nadia Alexander, Chris Messina, and Quinn Shephard; and at the helm Ms. Quinn Shephard (director, actor, producer, editor, co-producer for the score... literally what can’t she do) all make this film a riveting, unforgettable experience! You will be glued to the screen and be transported into this incredible dark world that Quinn, Her team, and the cast has created in BLAME! Don’t hesitate...... SEE. THIS. FILM.
