About the Movie
Eighteen years after the Brothers' original "mission from God", Elwood Blues (Dan Aykroyd) is getting out of prison and discovering that much has changed in the time he's been away. His partner, Jake, is gone, his band is no longer together and the orphanage where he grew up has been demolished. Elwood soon realizes that he must embark on a whole new mission - to reassemble the old band, this time with the help of a soulful bartender (John Goodman), compete at Queen Moussette's (Erykah Badu) Battle of the Bands and set a wayward orphan named Buster on the path to redemption. In the midst of the mayhem, he's got to prove to the police that there's magic in the music...and a mysterious method behind the Blues Brothers' madness. Special appearances by B.B. King, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Johnny Lang, Blues Traveler, Eric Claption and many more. It's an action-packed comedy with lots of Rhythm and Blues.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Once the new sequel gets past its cumbersome plotting and gets down to its music, it overrides the temptation to suggest buying the soundtrack recording and forgetting the rest.
Rotten: Now a sequel has arrived, Blues Brothers 2000, offering more of the same. And less.
Rotten: The sequel offers more of the same, only less.
Fresh: Blues Brothers 2000 isn't anywhere close to the landmark its predecessor was, but it's still enjoyable.

The blues brothers 2000
I must admit... This movie was not as good as the other. It still has a toe tapping music but the story is loose and has no real point. 4 stars.
Great music at the end, but the movie is TERRIBLE!!!
Come on! How can anyone think this movie is even close to being as good as the original?? I love the original, and I honestly can't believe that so many of the original cast members, not to mention the original director, were involved in this piece of garbage. The movie is not funny at all, and some scenes are just downright pathetic. The WORST scene by far is when Dan Akroyd's head appears in the glove compartment. Is that supposed to be funny? Man, these guys just came up empty-handed when writing the script. The producers were sure successful in rounding up a boatload of great blues stars to participate in the jam at the end of the movie, but that, along with some of the other musical numbers, make up the only highlights of this film. The rest is total throwaway. This sequel is not QUITE as bad as the Cannonball Run sequel (which is, hands down, the worst movie of all time) when it comes to contrasting the quality of an original movie with its sequel, but it comes pretty close.
