Six years in the making, this award winning documentary follows outspoken indie-rock hero Bob Forrest, through his life-threatening struggle with addiction, to his transformation into one of the most influential and controversial drug counselors in the US today. The film crafts contemporary footage, animation and compelling interviews with archival performances and personal videos from Bob’s past to reveal the complex layers of this troubled, but hopeful soul. Featuring Courtney Love, Anthony Kiedis, Flea, John Frusciante, members of Jane’s Addiction, Fishbone and Guns n’ Roses.
This movie is a must see, this is not just a film about an extraordinary man but about the epidemic that is crushing this countries health and judicial systems simontainously. This film has a serious message that I hope the public takes notice.
Wonderful & Honest
I remember the first time I saw Bob on 'Celebrity Rehab', I thought '"Who IS this dude?". Now I am enlightened.
But this documentary is so much more than about Bob Forrest and his life. It gets into the very real, and not discussed enough, go at recovery and sobriety for this wonderful community of talented artists.
These artists, these musicians shaped how the world saw and heard music.
Who is this Dude? Someone that cares and loves deeply for his comrades in arms. You gotta see this movie. It'll be worth it.
My teenage years were spent in the LA alternative scene watching Thelonious Monster, Fishbone, Jane's Addiction, and Red Hot Chili Peppers play some of the most amazing music ever created live. This documentary not only rekindled those feelings that I felt back then, but also gave me new perspective on the struggles behind the scenes. Bob Forrest is an amazing human being who gave up stardom to be of service to other human beings in need.
This is one of the best documentaries of it's kind, and I highly recommend it. Even to those who have no idea who Bob Forrest is.
