About the Movie
Six years in the making, this award winning documentary follows outspoken indie-rock hero Bob Forrest, through his life-threatening struggle with addiction, to his transformation into one of the most influential and controversial drug counselors in the US today. The film crafts contemporary footage, animation and compelling interviews with archival performances and personal videos from Bob’s past to reveal the complex layers of this troubled, but hopeful soul. Featuring Courtney Love, Anthony Kiedis, Flea, John Frusciante, members of Jane’s Addiction, Fishbone and Guns n’ Roses.
This movie is a must see, this is not just a film about an extraordinary man but about the epidemic that is crushing this countries health and judicial systems simontainously. This film has a serious message that I hope the public takes notice.
Wonderful & Honest
I remember the first time I saw Bob on 'Celebrity Rehab', I thought '"Who IS this dude?". Now I am enlightened.
But this documentary is so much more than about Bob Forrest and his life. It gets into the very real, and not discussed enough, go at recovery and sobriety for this wonderful community of talented artists.
These artists, these musicians shaped how the world saw and heard music.
Who is this Dude? Someone that cares and loves deeply for his comrades in arms. You gotta see this movie. It'll be worth it.
A true Classic American story! Make it, F it up, survive and then change lives!
The movie is great! It cuts deep down inside. It allows you inside his world and what he was going through along with his band mates. The Monster was a great band (also The Bicycle Thief)...I love their work. Bob is an incredible song write and front man...one of my favorites!!! The Music is LA at the time was great to witness first hand. You'd see them out at Smalls, Bar Deluxe and We'd always find their next gig. Fun times. It's great to see Bob come full circle...he is "American...he is powerful". Highly suggest the movie. It's entertaining and great to see how he changes lives. Be well Bob...all the best!
