Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Otto Preminger's formally dazzling 1958 film is an edifice constructed of contrasts.
Fresh: A brilliant dialectical filmmaker, Preminger extracts the last ounce of pathos from the anguish of the mute witness.
Fresh: Arguably, this is Preminger's masterpiece.
Fresh: Jean Seberg is as captivating as ever in Otto Preminger's newly restored 1958 drama.
An ending you don't see coming.
This is a pretty good movie, feels a little slow at times. The acting of the daughter was sorta hit and miss but Nivens and Kerr's chemistry was great. Kerr carried this film. I wouldn't say it's worth a buy but most definitely a rent! I didn't like that it was black and white sometimes then color sometimes. This movie shows you how your actions can affect other people.
