Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: To borrow a hamburger chain's refrain, not lovin' it.
Rotten: There's almost a Seussian vibe in this heap, but no hint that it's intentional.
This movie isn't exactly bad, it's just really dull and out there. The whole "advertising is bad" agenda is shoved down your throat so much that it's basically an ad for anti-advertising which I think makes it some weird combination of being hypocritical, ironic, and an oxymoron...I don't know; I kind of lost interest some where in the middle and was fidgeting around by the time the end credits were rolling.
There's worse movies you could spend your time watching, so I'll give this movie a 'watch at your own risk' recommendation.
NOT what was advertised
The trailer for the movie is the complete opposite of what the movie is actually about. Was it a bad movie per se? No, it wasn't. It was, however a heavy social commentary, NOT a sci-fi thriller. What is in the trailer takes place in the last five minutes of the movie. I hate deceptions such as this, but I guess the joke's on me cause I spent my money to see it.
Trailer fits the Movie
I was 'Branded' to watch the movie due to the trailer! The slick sci-fi trailer lurred me into renting the movie. Never again will I rent a movie based on the trailer! The movie and the trailer will really teach you a lesson in deception.
