Plot Summary

Lars von Trier became an international sensation with this galvanizing realist fable about sex and spiritual transcendence. Emily Watson stuns, in an Oscar-nominated performance, as Bess, a simple, pious newlywed in a tiny Scottish village who gives herself up to a shocking form of martyrdom after her husband (Stellan Skarsgård) is paralyzed in an oil-rig accident. Breaking the Waves, both brazen and tender, profane and pure, is an examination of the expansiveness of faith and of its limits.

Breaking the Waves

A fantastic movie. Increadibly well done and with impecable taste.

The heart of Lars Von Trier

One of if not the most truly passionate and loving yet viciously cruel movies ever made. Jan and Bess will break your heart for sure but in between make you smile, laugh, cry. I love all von trier's movies but this is my new favorite film of his, stellan skarsgard does an incredible job as the manly man Jan, and Emily Watson does a superb job at playing wide eyed, and pure of heart Bess. Watch this movie, it's worth every penny. Ps. Please make lars von trier's movie AntiChrist available for sale on iTunes.
