Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Bug won't get under your skin as much as it will assault you with its ghastly claustrophobic drama and over-the-top performances. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Sep 1, 2007

Fresh: Bug goes exactly where it needs to go -- to a place most filmmakers don't dare go -- and gets there brilliantly. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 2, 2007

Fresh: Ashley Judd and Michael Shannon (who reprises his stage persona) never allow us to categorize the main characters as one-dimensional nut jobs but two emotionally fractured souls who retreat into paranoid delusion. – Desson Thomson, Washington Post, Jul 16, 2008

Fresh: After nearly three decades of misfires, major and minor, William Friedkin, the creator of The French Connection, The Exorcist and Sorcerer, is back in true form with Bug. – Tirdad Derakhshani, Philadelphia Inquirer, Jun 24, 2010

Customer Reviews

People have no patience.

The people who watched this and gave it less than a 4 obviously were expecting some kind of creature violence. Impatience kills a lot of minds. This was one of the best movies I have ever seen, very well acted and such a creepy topic. The sex scene was meaningless though and makes the movie not suitable to show to younger family members, however one of the best movies still. I suggest this movie and disregard all the 1 and 2 star idiots.

I think the customers that buy horror movies on itunes are all 13 year olds

I mean this was a really entertaining horror movie it was really interesting and disturbing. Its a must see for adults 18 and up

u guys don't understand

everybody watches this movie excpecting there to be a monster that kills people but this movie dipict's that the real monster is the one you thought of in your head. This is a movie about insanity and the human mind not a movie with a monster or zombies.
