Two-time Academy Award® Winner Kevin Spacey delivers a bravura performance in this uproarious, riveting and wickedly hilarious film inspired by a true story. Spacey stars as Jack Abramoff, the real-life Washington power player who resorted to jaw-dropping levels of fraud and corruption. High-rolling excess and outrageous escapades are all in a day’s work for Abramoff, as he goes to outrageous lengths to promote the Indian gambling industry, earning him the nickname “Casino Jack.” But when Jack and his womanizing protégé Michael Scanlon (Barry Pepper) enlist a dimwitted business partner (Jon Lovitz) for an illegal scheme, they find themselves ensnared in a web of greed and murder that explodes into a worldwide scandal.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Mr. Hickenlooper's oddly apolitical caper film loses itself in the puzzle of its protagonist's personality.
Rotten: Tonally scattershot and more than a little heavy-footed. But then, so were the real cons from which Abramoff profited while the flimflam worked.
Fresh: Golden Globe nominee Kevin Spacey has a ball and then some playing the devil inside Jack Abramoff, the corrupt GOP lobbyist who ran wild during the W. years.
Rotten: It's a movie of sporadically entertaining scenes that add up to a vaguely unsatisfying whole.
Good acting can
Kevin Spacey demonstrated his usual talent, but he couldn't save this lame direction. The movie dragged on and on and many scenes seemed contrived and fake. Even Spacey at times seemed to be exaggerating. John Lovitz was terrible and totally out of his league. It was uncomfortable watching him. The only positive thing about the movie was learning what a creep Jack Abramoff is.
This movie may not be an Oscar film but it is very entertaining. Barry Pepper kind of steals the show. Definitely a good movie that doesn't take sides on the political spectrum and lets you decide whether Jack is good or bad.
Don't waste money on a rental
This movie is so poor that I was disgusted spending time, no less money, to watch it. Save yourself the trouble and find something better.
