Ed Helms (The Hangover 1 & 2) and John C. Reilly (Step Brothers) lead an all-star cast in the comedy that shows what can happen...when insurance agents go wild! Shy and naive Tim Lippe (Helms) ventures to the “big city” of Cedar Rapids for a convention and ends up crossing paths with the ultimate party animal (Reilly). Before long, Tim is crashing parties, skinny-dipping in the hotel pool and being seduced by a sexy soccer mom. And if Tim can survive the weekend, he might just change his life forever!

Fresh: These folk are undistinguished yet distinctive, and the film, for all the familiar grind of its plotting, pays them their honest due.
Fresh: I imagine the director, Miguel Arteta, is the reason the movie succeeds as well as it does. He mutes the obnoxiousness and concentrates on the performances, nearly all of which are excellent and marked by a sense of real camaraderie.
Fresh: Helms delivers a performance of touching delicacy, one almost as remarkable as that of Tom Hanks in Big.
Rotten: Plenty of passing laughs, but some coarse overacting, not to mention a phoned-in, Capra-esque message of singular banality.
Funniest Movie Ed Helms has ever been in.
Helms never has had a lead role in a film and this just shows he is full of creative talents. This should be as popular as The Hangover.
Entertaining but not lol funny
This was a nice fun film, but it never had me busting up laughing. Would I recommend it, certainly. There were some funny scenes and the whole movie was enjoyable. The character were well developed and the plot held strong through to the final scene. A bit tragedy, a bit comedy, a bit coming of age, a bit romantic this film was loaded with it all.
time turner anyone?
that's two hours of my life i'll never get back.
