Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Clarke makes us feel plenty of things we'd rather not. His eyes are shadowed with profound decency one minute, and hollowed out in desperate calculation the next. – Stephanie Zacharek, TIME Magazine, Apr 12, 2018

Rotten: In the final analysis "Chappaquiddick" is the story of a weak man. Maybe someone who had deep-seated reasons for that weakness, but still a not particularly appealing individual whose actions frustrate rather than draw us in. – Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times, Apr 5, 2018

Fresh: If you're looking for something to make you feel good about chubby, cherubic Ted, the venerable lion of the Senate, this is not your movie. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Apr 10, 2018

Fresh: A film of integrity and disclosure, a controversial chapter in American history that substitutes clinical accuracy for Hollywood embellishment, with an impressive attention to detail and an admirable respect for suspenseful narrative. – Rex Reed, New York Observer, Apr 10, 2018

Fantastic Movie!

As an interested individual in the Kennedy’s, I can easily say that the movie explained the incident very accurately. Very educational and filled with a lot of information, but it manages to hold your undivided attention throughout the entire film. Theories regarding the incident were briefly touched on, but the movie itself focused on the facts. I highly recommend this film to those who are interested and even to those who aren’t. Only complaint I have is that it didn’t come out sooner.

Poor film..... not worth watching. More of the same on this issue of which the truth will never be known.

Well Done

A great grownup movie. A nice alternative to the science fiction and super-hero fare we have been subjected to lately.
