Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Leggy Zeta-Jones is so hot in the 'All That Jazz' number, she's flammable. And Zellweger defines delicious.
Fresh: Chicago has so much razzle-dazzle that viewers may end up both raised and dazed. It's remorselessly inventive, trying anything fast and sassy to keep you watching.
Fresh: Renee Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones put on quite a show in Rob Marshall's dazzling cinematic rethinking of the 1975 Kander and Ebb musical directed by Bob Fosse.
Fresh: With performers as good as these and the freshness of Bill Condon's screenplay and Marshall's direction, there's really very little wrong with Chicago. What it lacks is something intangible -- heat.
A great classic
Perfect in every way funny, smart great cast and songs for a true musical lover.
I love it!
I saw this the night before I went to see the musical on broadway and I fell in love with this! It's upbeat, lively, stunning, always leaves me wanting a little more.
Extra props to Zeta-Jones, who did this film PREGNANT! She's quite a dancer and singer, (light on her feet and shes got such a special something to her voice that I adore)
Zellweger absolutely fit the roll. Innocent and cute on the outside; devious little beast on the inside.
One who I think doesn't get enough mention here is Latifah. First of all, her voice is gorgeous (but we knew that already) and she really does well as a "motherly" character.
To wrap it up, everyone fit their roles excellently. They pulled out all the stops here. I highly recommend this film to anyone, broadway lover or not.
This movie is pure genius
