Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Mr. Senese, who wrote the script, has created a cautionary yarn with echoes of David Cronenberg's "The Brood" and an exaggerated sense of its own topical urgency.
Rotten: Those seeking fantasy thrills may find it too dry, while neither the ideas nor the eventual scares are quite original or surprising enough to elevate "Closer" from the respectable to the memorable.
Fresh: With admirable economy, writer-director Billy Senese has crafted an eerie piece that's as much an effective cautionary tale as it is a stirring film of ideas - and ideals.
Fresh: The drama plays out as expected - the ending, particularly, seems too pat - but offers several well-executed moments of tension along the way.
Well worth the watch
Interesting and thought provoking film, not just about cloning but about the blind pursuit of any passion or progress. Well acted, especially enjoyed Jeremy Childs whose portrayal of Victor was intense, frightening in his detachment but relatable in his struggle.
Interesting, but lacking
This movie reaches out towards the morality of cloning and taking fate into our own hands. I was hoping the movie would give greater chronological development, but remains only within the first few month of the babies inception.
Worth the rent, but not a purchase.
How did this make it to iTunes?
This is not even suitable to be a made-for-TV movie. The music and sound made me want to pull my hair out (literally the WORST ever).
The storyline is beyond flat. Watching this movie has been a form of torture & I can't understand how the people that made this movie got into this business, they need to find a new profession.
I felt like I just watched paint dry with a child screaming in my ear for the duration of this so-called movie. Help me.
