About the Movie

In this offbeat, romantic crime thriller, Sam is a bright, ambitious and handsome bellboy at a five star hotel who has big dreams of one day running his own restaurant. On a seemingly ordinary day, he suddenly finds himself in a life or death hostage situation with the radiantly beautiful Mary and her belligerent elderly boss Charlie. Against the backdrop of an armed jewel robbery that goes badly wrong, hostages Sam and Mary discover their true feelings for each other.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Roberts turns in an interesting performance, but the film is treacly and contrived. – Peter Bradshaw, Guardian, Jul 12, 2012

Rotten: Props to director Simon Aboud for trying something a little different, even if things didn't quite come together. – David Jenkins, Little White Lies, Jul 12, 2012

Rotten: Aboud has a strong visual sense - the framing is precise, the colours rich - but with a threadbare, episodic plot, thin characters and uninspired dialogue, this soon outstays its welcome. – Tom Huddleston, Time Out, Jul 10, 2012
