About the Movie

Will Smith stars in Concussion, a dramatic thriller based on the incredible true David vs. Goliath story of American immigrant Dr. Bennet Omalu, the brilliant forensic neuropathologist who made the first discovery of CTE, a football-related brain trauma, in a pro player and fought for the truth to be known. Omalu’s emotional quest puts him at dangerous odds with one of the most powerful – and beloved – institutions in the world.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: While "Concussion" has some fine things going for it, notably science and Will Smith, it lacks the exciting, committed filmmaking that rises to the level of its outrageous topic. – Manohla Dargis, New York Times, Dec 25, 2015

Rotten: Landesman has pushed too hard to make this story fit into a dramatic mold, alternating melodrama and romance with those earnest warnings in a way that is more ungainly than effective. – Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times, Dec 24, 2015

Fresh: As Omalu, Smith gives an emotional performance, bolstered by capable supporting players. – Stephanie Merry, Washington Post, Dec 24, 2015

Fresh: Concussion's dramatic core is solid and its unwillingness to sugarcoat the NFL's tactics is likely to raise some eyebrows. – James Berardinelli, ReelViews, Dec 24, 2015

Courageous Movie

Will Smith shows a lot of courage taking on this role as does Dr. Omalu. I work with kids who have TBI and this movie can potentially save lives. This is a very impactful movie that correlates behavior with the health of the brain, a simple yet profound message.

Bad acting has no limits

The horrible acting and bad accents will drive you bonkers. Skip this one.

Man vs MultiBillion Colossus

Such an amazing story of a man dreaming big in the sense of saving lives and using science to justify his actions. An amazing story here was said and to be recognize by anyone who plays sports; Also another reason can be said from how creating a "cover-up" can be made to make a company who owns a day off a week, anything for business. On the other hand this movie portrays Health. People need to know what their going into when they play sports besides the injuries that can be seen and be cautions off things internally. The Truth hurts but it saves lives; And Science proves this from watching this movie and Dr. Omalu studies!!!
