About the Movie

An extremely odd couple - a young Latino man who will do anything for his family and a 30-something scheming white guy who will do anything to his family - come across one of the most valuable pieces of currency in U.S. history. All they have to do is sell it, which is where the real problems begin. And of course, the only way out is family - the one person who can help them, hates them both: the schemer's sister! Starring Academy Award-nominee John C. Reilly ("Chicago" "The Perfect Storm"), Diego Luna ("Terminal", "Open Range"), Golden Globe-nominee Maggie Gyllenhaal ("Mona Lisa Smile", "Adaptation") and Jonathan Tucker ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Hostage"). Produced by George Clooney and Stephen Soderbergh ("Good Night, And Good Luck", "Syriana"). Written and directed by Gregory Jacobs.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The problems lie not with the actors but with a glib approach that exposes the flaws of the original story. – Carla Meyer, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: It's such a pleasure being in the company of these actors as they work with character-rich material that if they burst into the audience and swindled us out of our wallets, we would gladly oblige. – Jami Bernard, New York Daily News, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: A breathless and dazzling caper that knocks your socks off. – Rex Reed, New York Observer, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Doesn't exactly reinvigorate an overworked genre, but neither does it disgrace the format or the original movie. – Lou Lumenick, New York Post, Jun 24, 2010

Brilliant and original

I loved this -- I've watched it twice and am tempted to watch it again :)
I believe it is based on a Spanish (?) film called 9 Queens or the like. In any case it is fresh with great characters and O'Reilly as gritty a grifter as one can find. I hadn't realised Clooney and Soderbergh were involved -- kudos to them as well.
