Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Terrified of puppets? Enjoy being scared? Then you'll be half-satisfied with Dead Silence, a rote horror pantomime. – Scott Brown, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Formulaic and rather lazy exercise in booga-booga scare tactics. – John Anderson, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The movies have always asked us to suspend our disbelief, but Dead Silence demands our ignorance of its own derivations. A conflation of the horror genre's laziest tropes, plot angles and shorthands. – Ed Gonzalez, Los Angeles Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Dolls are innately unnerving, but the movie's semi-menacing Charlie McCarthys never live up to their potential. – Jim Ridley, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010

its really for people that have a puppets

it is scary if you have a fear of puppets and dolls like I. if you don't it would be entertaining at best. also the story is very original

Great overall

From a horror movie fan, this was an overall thumbs up! Comparing to other clown movies like "Amusement", Stephen King's "IT", etc. I actually thought this was above one of the greatest clown horror movies. Very awesome and cover-your-eyes movie!

Probaby the only horror movie I'm actually scared of:) Great to watch with girls!
